A focus on insurance
Working in insurance will involve you dealing with different products which your clients will need. Depending on which market you work in, retail, wholesale or reinsurance, you could be dealing with:
- General insurance
General insurance is dealt across both the retail and wholesale markets and provides protection against damage that may occur to our possessions – for example cars, houses, jewellery etc -or any physical injuries may occur to individuals during particular events such as holidays or sports activities. - Business insurance
Companies also need insurance against unforeseen events that could impact upon their business, like a fire in a warehouse or a plane crash, or even a hurricane. - Life and pensions insurance
Life assurance refers to financial cover provided for individuals in the event of their death or illness, therefore providing financial security for their family. Life and critical illness cover provides security for those who have mortgages. Life insurance occurs mostly in the retail market. People also need to be financially secure when they have retired and pensions are a huge market. Some companies insure their senior staff too.
