Developing an apprenticeship framework
An apprenticeship framework covers all statutory requirements. Frameworks are used by colleges, employers and training providers to ensure that apprenticeship programmes are delivered consistently and to national standards. The framework includes all qualifications and their credit value. It also gives guidance regarding entry requirements, completion time and careers paths. Find out more about the statutory requirements of frameworks for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
If you want to develop a framework, you will need to do so using the Apprenticeship Framework Online (AFO) tool. This enables organisations to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to the FSP of their intention to develop a framework. The apprenticeship is then developed using the AFO, and the FSP will review the framework to ascertain whether it meets the defined standards. When the FSP is satisfied, we will 'issue' the framework on the AFO, making it available for funding consideration by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) in England and the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) in Wales. The FSP is the Issuing Authority (IA) for apprenticeships in the finance, accountancy and financial services sector.
We can support employers and others in developing apprenticeships that can enable their talent get qualified and progress their career.
