Getting your training recognised

Many firms already deliver high quality internal training programmes, from induction, through to customer services and soft skill development. It is possible for your in house training to be included onto the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), the Credit and Qualifications Framework in Wales (CQFW) via the Quality Assured Life-long Learning (QALL), and the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF), enabling your workforce to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Find out more about the QCF, SCQF, and the CQFW.

The QCF is the framework for all vocational qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Qualifications which are put on to the QCF must be assessed and offered by an Ofqual regulated and recognised awarding organisation. QCF qualifications are organised into bite sized chunks known as units. Each unit is allocated credit which represents how long the unit will take to achieve. The units and qualifications are also assigned a level which represents how difficult they are. Employers in Scotland can have their qualifications recognised by the SCQF.

Employers can have their training represented as a QCF unit or qualification by becoming an awarding organisation or by working with an existing awarding organisation. Whichever route you decide to take, speak to us at an early stage as we can provide you with information on which QCF units and qualifications are already available and which awarding organisations would be useful for you to speak to.
