The Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification is an umbrella qualification that enables learners to access the breadth and depth of a flexible curriculum, which includes a core curriculum and a flexible Options menu. The qualification is offered at three levels: Foundation at Level 1, Intermediate at Level 2 and Advanced at Level 3.

Learners will achieve the Welsh Baccalaureate Core Certificate at Foundation, Intermediate or Advanced levels providing that they satisfy the core curriculum requirements. Learners who achieve the Welsh Baccalaureate Core Certificate and Options requirements at the relevant levels, will be awarded the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced, Intermediate or Foundation Diplomas.
